13th October 2026 | Kabete National Polytechnic

Kabete National Polytechnic today hosted a Cybersecurity Awareness and Sensitization Session facilitated by officials from the State Department for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (SDTVET), in collaboration with Huawei. The sensitization formed part of the ongoing Cyber Week Awareness Programme, an initiative involving visits to selected TVET institutions and universities across the country to promote cybersecurity awareness and responsible digital practices.

The session focused on the importance of digital safety, protecting personal and institutional data, identifying potential cyber threats, and adopting responsible online practices. It also highlighted the growing need for cybersecurity awareness as educational institutions increasingly embrace digital technologies in teaching, learning, and administrative operations. The engagement provided an opportunity to emphasize the role of individual responsibility in maintaining a secure digital environment and the importance of building a cybersecurity-conscious community within the TVET sector.

The nationwide awareness programme, scheduled across selected institutions between 6th and 14th October 2026, reflects ongoing efforts to strengthen cybersecurity awareness and promote a culture of digital responsibility in educational institutions. We remain committed to embracing digital transformation while promoting cybersecurity awareness, responsible technology use, and a safe digital learning environment for its trainees and staff.
