Kabete National Polytechnic: January–April 2026 Semester Highlights
The January–April 2026 semester at Kabete National Polytechnic has successfully concluded, marked by significant achievements in both academic and co-curricular activities.
A major highlight of the semester was the 6th Graduation Ceremony held on 20th February 2026, where 2,561 trainees graduated in an event presided over by the Cabinet Secretary for Education. This milestone underscored the institution’s continued commitment to excellence in technical and vocational training.
Throughout the semester, the Polytechnic strengthened its academic delivery by fully implementing Competency-Based Education and Training (CBET) across all programmes. This approach emphasizes practical skills, industry relevance, and learner-centered training. The institution also enhanced quality assurance systems, expanded industry partnerships, and promoted active engagement with trainees and the wider community.
As a Qualification Awarding Institution (QAI) and the National Coordination Centre for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL), Kabete National Polytechnic continues to champion accessible, flexible, and industry-aligned education.
Assessment activities were successfully conducted, including KNP CBET, CDACC, and KNEC examinations, with results scheduled for release at the end of April. The Polytechnic maintains a structured grading system designed to ensure competency and mastery of skills.
Beyond academics, trainees actively participated in co-curricular activities. Sports tournaments fostered teamwork and fitness, while the institution excelled in regional drama and music competitions. In addition, students showcased innovation and creativity during research conferences, skills competitions, and youth forums.
Next Semester (May 2026 Intake & Continuing Students)
Looking ahead, preparations are underway for the 4th International Research and Innovation Conference and Career Expo scheduled for June 2026, promising even greater opportunities for engagement and growth.
