Welcome to the Liberal Studies department!

Liberal Studies Department where we offer exciting courses including short courses and support units for other departments. In this department, we have the following courses and units:
1. Social Work and Community Development
2. Counselling Psychology
3. German Language
4. Chinese Language
5. Communication Skills
6. Work Ethics and Practice

Social Work and Community Development
Level 5: Minimum requirement – D+
Level 6: Minimum requirement – C.
This course equips and helps someone make a real difference in society through community service, advocacy, and support programs.

Counselling Psychology
Levels: Minimum requirement – C-
Levels 6 (Diploma): Minimum requirement – C-
This course is crucial in helping someone develop essential skills to provide professional psychological support and guidance to individuals and groups.

German Language (Short Course)
This is a 3 months Course in Levels A1 and A2 in terms of international German Language Certification. It enables someone to master basic German language skills and open doors to international opportunities in education, business, and travel around the globe.

Chinese Language (Short Course)
This is a 4-month course that helps an individual gain proficiency in Chinese and build a strong foundation for cultural and professional growth in the global economy.

Basic Units (Support Units)
a) Communication Skills
This unit is important in building effective verbal and written communication for academic, professional, and personal success.
b) Work Ethics and Practice (Employability Skills)
Employability Skills is central in ensuring an individual acquires essential ethics and practices so as to thrive in career.
c) Essential Skills/Life Skills
This unit is quite necessary for one to acquire critical skills for personal development, problem-solving, and decision-making in any circumstance.
