Diploma in Records and Archives Management

Course Description

The Diploma in Records and Archives Management is designed to equip students with the skills and knowledge necessary to manage, preserve, and organize records and archival materials in a wide range of professional settings. This program prepares students to effectively handle both physical and digital records, ensuring their proper storage, retrieval, and compliance with legal and organizational standards.

The curriculum covers essential topics such as records management principles, archival theory, digital records preservation, cataloging and classification, data privacy, and information governance. Students will also learn about the legal and ethical considerations involved in records management, as well as the use of technology in modern archiving practices.

Through hands-on training, internships, and practical assignments, students will gain real-world experience in managing records and archives across various industries, including government agencies, private corporations, and non-profit organizations. The program also emphasizes problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to adapt to changing technological advancements.

Diploma: A mean grade of C- (minus) or higher in KCSE,
Certificate: A mean grade of D+ (plus) or higher in KCSE
