The Diploma in Nutrition and Dietetics is a seven-semester program designed to equip students with the knowledge and practical skills needed to promote health and manage nutrition-related conditions. This program prepares learners for careers in healthcare, community nutrition, and the food industry by focusing on dietary planning, nutritional assessment, and food science principles.
The curriculum includes essential topics such as human nutrition, meal planning, food safety and hygiene, therapeutic nutrition, public health nutrition, and dietetics. Students will learn to assess nutritional needs, create personalized diet plans, and implement nutrition programs that promote healthy lifestyles. The program also emphasizes sustainable food practices and culturally sensitive dietary recommendations.
A three-month industrial attachment provides students with hands-on experience in hospitals, community health programs, or food production industries, allowing them to apply their skills in real-world settings. The department also fosters growth through its Nutrition and Wellness Club, where learners can engage in mentorship programs, workshops, and health campaigns.
