The Diploma in Animal Production is a seven-semester program designed to train students in modern and sustainable livestock production practices. This program provides learners with the skills and knowledge needed to enhance animal productivity, ensure animal health and welfare, and contribute to the agricultural sector through innovative farming methods.
The curriculum covers critical areas such as animal breeding and genetics, livestock nutrition, disease prevention and control, dairy and meat production, poultry farming, sustainable pasture management, and agribusiness principles. Students gain practical skills in managing various livestock species and learn the importance of balancing productivity with environmental sustainability.
A three-month industrial attachment offers hands-on experience at farms, agricultural institutions, or livestock processing facilities, allowing students to apply their skills in real-world scenarios. Additionally, the program encourages involvement in the Animal Production Club, fostering professional development through mentorship, workshops, and networking opportunities.
