The Diploma in Geophysical Exploration Technology is a seven-semester program designed to equip students with practical skills and technical knowledge in the field of geophysics. This program prepares learners to apply scientific principles and modern technologies to explore and analyze the physical properties of the Earth’s subsurface for applications in mining, energy, environmental studies, and infrastructure development.
The curriculum covers topics such as geophysical surveying, seismic methods, electrical and electromagnetic techniques, gravity and magnetic exploration, remote sensing, and data analysis. Students gain hands-on experience with industry-standard equipment and software, allowing them to carry out geophysical investigations accurately and effectively.
A mandatory three-month industrial attachment is included, providing students with exposure to real-world geophysical exploration projects and practical problem-solving skills. The department supports student innovation and career development through a Geosciences Club, which offers mentorship, industry networking, and collaborative projects.
